Passport in Time (PIT) project at the Tonto National Forest. The project preserves artifacts from the old Camp Reno military post in the Tonto Basin. The Army post was established in 1868 in the heart of Apacheria, an extension of Fort McDowell. Through the PIT program several artifacts have been recovered.
