      <description>In consultation with the Senior Research Scientist, conduct and direct research activities aimed at improving the understanding, quantification and simulation of forest carbon dynamics at the stand and landscape level, as affected by global change factors.This position will complement and expand skills and abilities of the CFC Carbon Accounting Team through research that will contribute to the development of improved process representation of global change impacts on carbon and non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions and removals in boreal and temperate forest ecosystems.The successful candidate will become a member of a multi-disciplinary research team and work closely with experts in CFS, other federal departments, academia, and provincial and territorial resource management agencies. The candidate will work closely with members of the remote sensing community to advance linkages between remotely sensed information and terrestrial ecosystem models.The successful candidate will contribute to providing analytical support and advice to meet the needs of Government of Canada senior policy makers.The successful candidate will author, co-author and publish papers and reports documenting and interpreting results of research, and present and discuss these results with scientific and policy audiences.</description>
